Substitute Pre-Vocational Production Trainer
TradeWinds Services, Inc, located in Merrillville, IN has an as-needed position, in our Production Department, working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Responsible to train participants based on their individual pre-vocational goals as identified in their Individual Service Plans. In addition, provide training to enable the person served to maximize their performance on a variety of production jobs. Job accommodations and daily written documentation are required regarding participants’ progress and related service issues. Participation in consumer person-centered planning meetings is required.
Education Requirements: Minimum High school diploma or GED; post-secondary/training preferred.
Experience Required: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in education and/or teacher’s aide experience. Shipping experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task as well as effectively communicate both orally and written. Must be able to objectively and calmly handle crisis situations.
