TradeWinds Services, located in Merrillville, has a full-time position in our Sign Shop. This position assists with design, production, and installation of all types of signs to customer specifications to ensure a quality product is created and completed on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Review production schedule with coordinator and sign shop production supervisor to meet deadlines; Assist workers with proper techniques for production and installation; Work with supervisor to manage production flow to ensure timely completion and delivery; Monitor production for quality assurance; Deliver products when required; Assist customers in person and on the telephone as required; Assist with maintaining material and equipment inventory; Utilize opportunities to learn computer and/or design skills
Other Responsibilities: Maintain compliance with required deadlines; Inspire pride, excellence, and professional behavior throughout the agency; Create and promote an environment of respect and trust by honoring the provisions of the policy on professionalism and code of ethics; Conduct all activities according to the policies as stated in the Employee Handbook; Adhere to all other policies and procedures; Attend all departmental/agency required training
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and Technical Skills – Experience to safely work with standard tools: Knife, t-square, ruler, tape measure, drill, saws, calculator, scissors, etc. Experience in sign production using various types of materials
Mental Requirements: Ability to organize, must be detail-oriented. Ability to follow specific instructions. Ability to use computers.
Contact with Others: Contact with various departments daily. Contact with the general public.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to assist with installations in various weather conditions. Long periods of standing, reaching, kneeling and climbing. Ability to push and pull items.
Working Conditions: Shop environment; Outside & off-site work is required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Other Requirements: Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Be at least twenty-one (21) to operate company vehicles. Must possess a current valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance, no suspensions within a 3-year period. Must be able to comply with pre-hire requirements such as a background check, drug & TB test, ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
